Sergio Carlei has drawn inspiration from some of the great wines of Italy, France and Australia to produce a range of wines that bear his signature touch. Each of the three wines are skilfully blended from three varieties and truly represent the individual expression of one man’s passion in pursuit of the perfect drop.
CARLEI ESTATE TRE AMICI
‘Tre Amici’ signifies the ‘three friends’ involved in Carlei Wines; Sergio, Kent and Tony. These three have different backgrounds and origins, yet have formed a very tight friendship; something that is neatly reflected in this Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend, inspired by the ‘Super Tuscan’ wines of Italy.
CARLEI ESTATE TRE BIANCHI
Inspiration was drawn from the white wines of Bordeaux to produce this blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; a touch of Chardonnay reflects Sergio’s personal twist. Natural yeast ferments in older French oak give this wine a textural difference, providing extra complexity and allowing a savoury edge to shine through. Tre Bianchi shows the finesse and elegance found in outstanding Sauvignon Blanc wines of Bordeaux.
CARLEI ESTATE TRE ROSSI
This wine combines the freedom of Australian winemaking with Sergio’s love of the Rhone blends of France and his Italian heritage. Shiraz is blended with the Italian varieties of Barbera and Nebbiolo; all aged in large oak for complexity, subtlety and a savoury texture. A multi layered wine framed by fine tannins, with exceptional balance and length.
